CORE SC Announces Cycle 2 Grant Awards
The Center for Resilience Excellence South Carolina (CORE SC) is pleased to announce the awardees of its Cycle 2 grant program. CORE SC’s grant program provides funding for research and collaboration projects by South Carolina-based organizations to solve resilience challenges through strong partnerships. “We were impressed by the caliber of proposals that we received and their ability to address resilience challenges faced by South Carolina communities,” stated Catherine Hayes, CORE SC’s executive director. “We look forward to following their research and seeing how they can be integrated with existing systems or scaled to deliver impact to our citizens.”
Cycle 2 awards total $350,000 for the following partnerships:
Growers for Grace PBC, Allendale County Hospital, SC Thrive, Palmetto Care Connections, Heroic Health, American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and Instacart for food insecurity intervention in Allendale County
University of South Carolina, Benedict College, and the Savannah River National Laboratory for improved monitoring of nuclear fuel
Clemson University, Claflin University, College of Charleston, and NASA Langley Research Center for improved battery manufacturing using machine learning
University of South Carolina Aiken for improved solar thermal applications
Clemson University, Claflin University, College of Charleston, and NASA Langley Research Center for energy harvesting during space exploration
University of South Carolina, SC Department of Natural Resources, SC Sea Grant Consortium, and the College of Charleston for updated wild oyster reef mapping
